Timeless romance with a touch of home...
As wedding photographers, there are few things we love more than capturing the special moments between two people in love. And that's exactly what we had the honor of doing for Megan and Josh, two high school sweethearts who tied the knot in a beautiful barn wedding at Protea Weddings + Events in Ocala, Florida.
The venue itself was a stunning rustic barn, with high ceilings, and an open floor plan that allowed the natural light to pour in. As we arrived, we were struck by the simple yet elegant details that Megan and Josh had chosen. The tables were adorned with textured linen table runners and delicate floral centerpieces, and the sweetest hand crafted favors. The couple chose a timeless theme for their wedding, with dusty rose and light grey as their primary colors. And the florals were a beautiful mix of baby's breath, roses, and ranunculus, creating a soft and romantic atmosphere.
Megan looked breathtaking in her flowing ivory gown, with intentional details and a long veil that flowed behind her as she walked down the aisle. Her hair was styled in soft waves and crowned with beautiful boho braid. Josh, dressed in a sharp grey suit and blush tie, couldn't take his eyes off his bride as she made her way towards him.
As the ceremony began, the atmosphere was filled with love and anticipation. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows and prayed together, promising to love and support each other for the rest of their lives. And as they exchanged rings, I couldn't help but feel privileged to be witnessing such a beautiful moment.
After the ceremony, we took advantage of the stunning natural surroundings for some unforgettable photos. The soft golden hour light was perfect, casting a warm glow on the couple as they posed together in the fields surrounding the barn. The combination of their love and the natural beauty of the location made for some truly breathtaking shots.
As the reception began, the barn transformed. The couple's first dance was one of the highlights of the evening, as they swayed together to a beautiful love song, lost in their own world. Throughout the evening, we captured countless special moments, from the emotional speeches given by family and friends to the laughter and joy that filled the dance floor. We partied late into the night as DJ Matt Grey spun everyone's favorite dance songs. We concluded their evening with a final slow dance in the empty barn, as their guests waited to send them off with a grand sparkler exit.
Megan and Josh's wedding was a true celebration of love, capturing the essence of what it means to commit yourself to another person for life. From the stunning venue to the beautiful decor and the genuine love between the couple, everything about this day was simply perfect.
